People often ask me how I ended up in The Netherlands. Well, about 20 years ago I read that another chiropractor in Amsterdam wanted someone to cover his practice while he went on a much needed vacation. I had some free time and thought, “Why not? I’ve never been there. Might be nice.” So I gave him a call, said I could be there the next day, packed a bag and left my home in North Carolina and was in beautiful Amsterdam the following evening. He went to where ever he was vacationing and I took care of his patients for a couple of weeks. Had a wonderful time! We did this a few times over the next several months and I thought, “I like this place. I think I’ll stay!” So I did. I’ve lived in several counties all over the world, but this is where I will call home. People ask if I miss living in the U.S., and while there are things I do love about the Carolinas, I find the quality of life here unbeatable. I love the people with their punctuality and directness, I love experiencing four seasons in a single day, I love riding my heavy and rusty bicycle everywhere I go and I have even developed a taste for bitterballen. Oh, and the cheese!
I am pretty new to this blog thing and am going to try to have some fun with it. I hope to provide you with some good and useful information concerning your health and how to make it the best it can be. I will also try to simply throw in some observations and tidbits that you might find fun. I invite you all to contact me with any questions, concerns, rants, raves, recipes or jokes. Life is too short not to make fun of it!
Yours in Health,
