Diversified Technique

This technique involves application of “a short (low-amplitude), quick (high-velocity) thrust, by hand, over restricted joints (one at a time) with the goal of restoring normal range of motion in the joint.” This is the most common form of chiropractic and what we do the most of here at In Balance Chiropractic. It is painless, effective and feels awesome.

Activator Methods

The Activator Method chiropractic technique is a type of manual manipulation treatment used to treat various types of back and neck pain, as well as extremity complaints. This treatment method uses the Activator adjusting instrument, which is a hand held, spring loaded device and is used as an alternative to traditional manipulation. It is very gentle and is often used for the elderly, those in acute pain and babies.

Active Release Technique

Active Release Technique (ART) is a soft tissue therapy that focuses on relieving tissue tension via the removal of fibrosis/adhesions which can develop in tissues as a result of overload due to repetitive use. These disorders may lead to muscular weakness, numbness, aching, tingling and burning sensations.

Thompson Drop Table Technique

The specialized table used has segments that can be lifted up and then “dropped” when a thrust is applied by the chiropractor. The drop allows gravity to assist and work in combination with the manual adjustment. This provides a lighter adjustment and involves no twisting of the body
